ChatGPT Pro $200 allowance change (Oct 30, 2026)
OpenAI is lowering the usage included with ChatGPT Pro $200. The price doesn't change. Here is exactly what OpenAI's About ChatGPT Pro tiers article says, checked 2026-10-15.
Who is affected
Grandfathering applies if you had an active Pro 200 subscription at any point from September 22, 2026 through 10 a.m. Pacific Time on September 29, 2026. Eligible customers can use the previous included allowance "through October 29, 2026" while their subscription is active. After that date, the subscription moves to the lower included allowance at $200/month. New Pro 200 subscriptions already get the lower allowance.
Oct 29 or Oct 30?
Both. The help article says the old allowance lasts through Oct 29; OpenAI's subscriber email, as quoted on Hacker News, says the decrease starts Oct 30, 2026. They describe the same switch.

- Pro 500 ($500/mo): OpenAI says it has the highest included usage of the three Pro plans and is the only one with Ultrafast.
- Credits: after included usage, eligible features draw from purchased credits.
- API key: Codex can run on an API key at API rates, billed separately (Codex pricing).
- Pro 100 ($100/mo): OpenAI says Pro 200 includes more usage than Pro 100; the exact ratio is unknown.
